TEHRAN – The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the United Nations has dismissed allegations regarding the recruitment of Israelis to assassinate officials of the regime, labeling these claims as unfounded.

As reported by IRNA, the Iranian representative to the United Nations addressed inquiries from American media on Monday, local time, concerning recent assertions made by espionage officials of the Israeli regime. These officials alleged that Iran is enlisting individuals to gather sensitive information for potential missile strikes or to carry out assassinations of Israeli officials, particularly focusing on people of Iranian descent residing in the occupied territories.

The Iranian mission at the United Nations remarked, “This report lacks credibility and is unlikely to be true. From the perspective of the Israeli regime, the first group of suspicion would naturally be individuals of Iranian descent, followed by Muslims. Therefore, it stands to reason that Iran's intelligence efforts would target non-Iranian and non-Muslim individuals.”

Recently, American media claimed that the Iranian government has been recruiting residents of the occupied territories to carry out assassinations of high-ranking Israeli officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
